Glenn Delcarpio

Patriot families and friends:
My name is Glenn Delcarpio, and I am proud to be the principal of John Ehret High School.

For over 50 years, John Ehret High School has served the community of Marrero and its surrounding neighborhoods.  As a comprehensive high school, we offer three different diploma tracks.  Whether headed to a 4-year university, a 2-year technical school to earn a career-ready certification, or joining the armed services, every student attending Ehret can find a customized path for their future.  We honestly live up to our school motto by providing “Opportunities for Everyone.”

With nearly 2000 students, John Ehret has a wide array of academic programs.  Our juniors and seniors can take dual enrollment courses to earn high school credit and college credit simultaneously.  For students wanting to be ready for the global economy, the International Baccalaureate program offers students the opportunity to earn an international diploma by taking courses taught with international standards, rubrics, and resources.  Career-bound students can earn certifications (or even an Associate’s Degree) by attending Delgado River City or the Cuillier Career Center.  Career-bound students can earn certifications in electrical, welding, carpentry, industrial machine, heavy equipment, diesel mechanic, and HVAC programs.  

After school, the opportunities are just as plentiful.  There are over 16 athletic teams and 12 student/service organizations to join.  The P.R.I.D.E. of Marrero Marching Band has nearly 100 members and has continued to grow in both size and talent.  Last year alone, the P.R.I.D.E. of Marrero earned over $9 million dollars in scholarships.

Our mission is to provide diverse academic, vocational, and social opportunities in a safe, supportive learning environment to assist ALL students in becoming productive, responsible citizens and lifelong learners.
