John Ehret’s Talented Visual Arts Program has partnered with the World War II Museum this year to commemorate our military veterans, past and present, during their Veteran’s Day exhibition. Lead TVA teacher, Ms. Julie Quirk, has entitled this project “Gifts of Gratitude” inspired by George W. Bush’s book “Portraits of Courage”. Students will have the opportunity to visit, interview, and take photographs of veterans to get a first-hand understanding of their sacrifices made for our country. Students will use the photographs to paint a portrait of their veteran as part of the project. The World War II Museum will host an art exhibition of our student’s work during their Veteran’s Day program which is open to the public from November 6th– November 13th. If you have never visited the museum, it is truly an immersive and unforgettable experience. So come on down to the museum to support both our veterans and our John Ehret Talented Visual Arts students!
